My practice explores the threshold where heavy fabrication meets the mystical natural world. Utilizing industrial methods like metal welding and blowtorches, I inject air into steel to alter its volume—forcing a rigid material to contort into swollen, balloon-like shapes that carry a distinct psychological weight. These structural forms mirror the visceral attributes of human emotion, tension, and resilience.
Parallel to my sculptures, my paintings and video art map the subconscious and the sacred. Drawing from my upbringing surrounded by Catholic iconography and recent pilgrimages to global Marian apparition sites, my multimedia work captures spaces of intense spiritual gravity. Whether working with unforgiving steel or nocturnal cosmic landscapes, my goal is to transform modern environments into contemplative sanctuaries, highlighting the tension between physical architecture and the unseen universe.
